Hoot- by Carl Hiaasen

Roy Eberhardt moves to Florida , but his heart is in Montana .  On the bus ride to school, he sees a boy running with no sneakers on.  When he asks about him, he is told to keep out of other people’s business.  Roy doesn’t give up that easily and has some strange encounters with the boy.  Meanwhile Mother Paula’s is trying to move into the area, but someone is keeping that from happening.  Who is trying to sabotage the construction site?  What’s so important about those owls?
